Do your tutors come to our home?
Yes, our tutors usually come to your home. If you prefer to meet at a library or another quiet meeting place, you may arrange that with the tutor directly. We strongly encourage the tutoring to take place in a quiet room where there are no distractions.
How do your services compare to those of other tutoring agencies?
We serve children and college students who need help in mathematics, physics, chemistry and Earth Science only. We help students prepare for quizzes, tests, and general homework help. Most of our students meet with a tutor at least once a week.
How do you match my child with your tutors?
Depending on your child’s needs, strengths, weaknesses, and general goals, we select a tutor with the expertise your child needs, and who lives close to you.
If my child has learning challenges, can he/she receive services from you?
Yes, many of our tutors have experience helping students study one-on-one in the most efficient way. Just ask us for a tutor who has taught or tutored kids with learning disabilities.
Who makes the tutoring arrangements?
You and your tutor are responsible for scheduling sessions, communicating cancellations, and rescheduling. The tutor will call you to arrange the first session, and you will subsequently arrange all sessions with the tutor directly.
Who do I pay?
Payments are made with management directly. A prepayment is required for all tutoring sessions. An invoice is sent once per month and any discrepancy between prepaid sessions and actual time spent will be reconciled the following month.
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel a scheduled session with 24-hour notice without any charge, but the session must be rescheduled with the tutor during the same or following month. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. If your tutor cancels the session, you will not be charged and no rescheduling is required. You are not required to have a lesson on Christmas Break, Spring Break, Thanksgiving (Wednesday-Friday), or religious holidays.
How often should we schedule a tutoring session?
Most of our students meet with their tutor between one to three hours per week, depending on the level of support needed and your child’s goals. You may change the frequency of tutoring at any time.
How do we get started?
If you would like to pursue tutoring, we ask for prepayment for the first session and evaluation (1.5 hours) along with a $50 administrative fee. If you’d like to continue tutoring beyond the first lesson, we request a month’s worth of payment for the scheduled sessions.
For example, if you choose to schedule two hours per week, we ask for payment for 8 sessions/month (four weeks @ twice per week). Any discrepancy between the prepayment and the number of sessions you’ve had will be reconciled the following month. We ask for full payment by the 1st of the month. If you place credit card information on the contract, we will charge your credit card automatically on the first of the month of tutoring. We accept checks and all major credit cards.
Are there any other fees?
An administrative fee of $50 is added to the first session. We ask for an administrative fee along with a payment for a 1.5 hour lesson and evaluation.
Is there a contract?
Yes, you will complete and return a signed contract to us after the initial consultation call with the tutor. You may cancel the contract at any time with 24 hour notice.
Do you guarantee services?
We guarantee that you will be happy with your tutor during the first session. If you are not satisfied, you will receive a full refund for the first meeting including the administrative fee. If you choose, you may have another session with another one of our excellent tutors, but you are not required to continue services.
What if the tutor you meet is not a good fit with your child?
If your goals are not met and the chemistry between the tutor and your child is not the right fit, we can schedule a new tutor to work with your student. You are not obligated to continue services.
